Talk for Writing Parental Workshop

On Tuesday of this week parents were invited into school to see how we teach reading and writing using The Primary Writing Project’s Talk for Writing approach.  After a short introduction from Mr Jenkins, parents spent time in their children’s classes experiencing Talk for Writing, watching their children having fun and engaging with specific texts, stories and poetry – and in some cases joining in with the performances themselves!  There was then a short presentation from Miss Galston and Miss Copas, our English Leads, giving further information on how this approach works and the impact it has had on children’s outcomes in reading and writing in the last two years, which has been significant.  Thank you to everyone who came along – we hope you enjoyed it and found it useful.  We will be running another workshop later in the year for parents unable to attend this time.
