Knife Crime Assembly
This morning we had a special assembly for our Key Stage 2 children on the dangers of the misuse of knives. Sally Simmonds, from the Police Community Support Service, came into school to take assembly and explained to everyone about the consequences of knife crime and what might happen to anyone found carrying a knife out in the community. She also spoke about the importance of talking to a trusted adult if you have any concerns about the issue and explained how to contact the police if you need to report anything. The children listened fantastically well and asked Sally some intelligent and thoughtful questions. We plan to provide further opportunities for the children to discuss and investigate this highly topical and relevant issue through workshops that will be organised later in the year.
