Anti-Bullying Magic Show

Yesterday, as part of Anti-bullying Week, the children had a visit from the Magic Club of Great Britain.  There were two shows, one for Early Years and Key Stage 1 children, and one for Key Stage 2 children.  Eugene the Magician amazed us with rope tricks, card tricks and sleight of hand that had both the children and the teachers gasping in disbelief.  He also told us all about his experiences of being bullied at school, how he eventually found the courage to tell his head teacher what was happening to him and how, by doing so, the bullying stopped.  He also gave the children some excellent advice on what is and isn't bullying and how to understand the difference, and on how to stand up to bullies.  The children really enjoyed Eugene's show and learnt a lot from his stories; they will be doing more work on anti-bullying in lessons throughout the week.
