After School Care Provision Article

You may remember that I wrote to you back in September in response to an article published on the Luton Today/Herald and Post website claiming that the reason the school took the decision to close early on a Friday afternoon was because of staffing shortages. At the time I completely refuted this as wholly inaccurate and misleading. This was not true then and it is not true now.

Further to this, the Luton Today/Herald and Post have now chosen to publish a follow up article claiming that the free child care provision that is in place to ensure that children of working parents who are unable to collect at 1:45pm on Fridays when the school closes is, from September, to be chargeable. Once again, this is completely untrue.

I wrote to you all back in June to let you know that in fact the free provision will continue next academic year but will be subject to a governor review in January 2020. It would be inappropriate of me at this time to predict the outcome of this review, but rest assured that until that review takes place, our Friday Afternoon After School Care Provision will continue to be completely free to all parents who need it.
